Meet The Team
Kevin Romary, On-Air Talent
Kevin Romary joined Midco Sports Network in August 2017. When it comes to covering sports events in northeast Kansas, few have done it longer than Romary. He is a native Texan who left the Lone Star State more than two decades ago to attend the University of Kansas. After a brief radio stint in Moberly, MO, Romary spent 20 years in the Channel 6 sports department in Lawrence, KS. He’s covered four Final Four Championships, three bowl games and witnessed more individual and team state titles than he can count. He'll never forget when former KU men’s basketball coach Roy Williams announced he was staying, when Williams announced he was leaving, when athletic director Al Bohl blamed Williams for his firing, and when the Jayhawks cut down the nets in San Antonio.
Taryn Tempel, Reporter and Producer
Taryn Tempel joined Midco Sports Network full-time 2019, following an internship during her senior year at the University of Kansas. The Garden City, KS, native received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and now calls Lawrence home. Tempel spent four years on the KU track team, and worked as a reporter and producer on student-led sportscast The Playmakers. She now cohosts MidcoSN’s Kansas Preps+, and can be seen on the sidelines of games and events throughout the region.
